The Alliance for Puget Sound Shorelines representes a joint effort by three conservation groups: People For Puget Sound, The Trust for Public Land, and The Nature Conservancy to protect and restore Puget Sound’s ecologically rich shorelines. The Alliance partners have pledged to restore and protect hundreds of miles of shoreline and create several new parks. In Spring 2007 Terra GIS build the a web mapping site (sub contract for CommEn Space) for use as an internal planning and prioritization tool. |

Mapping voters and members Washington Conservation Voters (WCV) is a voter advocacy organization. The development of this internal web mapping application was started at CommEn Space and supports the work of Washington Conservation Voters Ed Fund regarding prioritization, outreach and strategic planning. The site maps individual members of WCV member groups in WA State, voter participation in key general elections, initiative results, and demographic information. Comprehensive tools for reporting, building queries, and identifying members and voters according to interactively entered target criteria help to identify target areas for outreach and voter engagement activities. |

Resources for legal assistance in Washington State The Washington State Bar Association/ Access to Justice Board internal site maps resources of Legal Aid providers, Pro Bono Lawyers and demographic data (census) for the entire State of WA. The application encompasses over sixty GIS layers ranging from ethnicity, telephone service coverage, to roads and public lands data. It was initially build at CommEn Space in 2006. Starting April 2007 Terra GIS is hosting the application and added new layers and functionality to the site. |

Jefferson Land Trust This mapping site for Jefferson Land Trust was developed at CommEn Space by Christopher Walter (now Cascade Land Conservancy) and Karsten Vennemann (now Terra GIS) and maps land ownership such as public and protected lands on a parcels level in eastern Jefferson County. Additional layers include hydrography, wetlands, transportation, land cover, orthophotos and topographic maps (last three data sets all from USGS). |

Hydropower Dams in Washington State CommEn Space created a collection of maps showing hydropower dams (FERC licensed) for several regions in the United States for the Hydropower Reform Coalition/American Rivers. This pilot study by Terra GIS illustrates an integration of the map data into a web mapping application for use as a dynamic information system. |

The Trust for Public Land In 2005 TPL published a report "A PUGET SOUND SHORELINE STRATEGY", moving forwards to help maintain and enhance the natural beauty of Puget Sound through beach parks, nature reserves, bluff trails, community piers, boat launches, and scenic viewpoints. TPL and CommEn Space collaborated creating maps and implemented an online tool mapping Public Access to Shore Lines around Puget Sound. |

North Olympic Land Trust This mapping site for North Olympic Land Trust was developed at CommEn Space. The interactive maps include GIS layers such ownership (e.g. public and protected lands), natural resources (hydrography and wetlands), infrastructure, orthophotos and watershed boundaries. |

Inland Conservation Coalition Mapserver is an internal mapping application built for a consortium of three conservation organizations - including The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Ducks Unlimited, and the Inland Northwest Land Trust. The site maps public and protected lands, natural resources (soils, hydrography, wetlands), infrastructure, land cover, and orthophotos for 9 Counties on the Washington-Idaho border. |

Sustainable Seattle is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the long term quality of life in the Seattle / King County area. Two interactive maps show analysis of demographic data and open space for the entire City of Seattle at the census block-group level. The Demographic map has information about housing, transportation, population, education, and income. The Open Space Indicator map is about accessibility to and amenities in neighborhood parks and other open space, such as bike trails, school grounds and public gathering places. |
